

Over the past few weeks I have been trying to teach myself guitar.
You know, for the ladies.
Actually it is one of those things I have been wanting to do for awhile but have been horrified by the idea of most guitar tutorials. If I wanted to play GreenSleeves, I wouldn't want to pay the guitar. I would want to ride on the special bus. I wanted to learn soemthing cool that was not intimidating.
Enter Mr. Williams...
I thought about traditional folk and then country material and when perusing a fakebook, realized that the majority of Hank Williams songs have my requisite "less than three chords" and some, Ramblin' Man, have only two.
Hell, I could learn that!
The D chord is probably one of the best sounding on a guitar and Williams likes to use variations on it, either a D& or Dm, that give that bright sounding chord just a little sense of melancholy, a little tug.
Well, I was searching around on good ole' Youtube and while I didn't find a live performance of the D7, I found one it's brothers in the C7, in Cold Cold Heart:
